Enzym Private Joint-Stock Company is one of the major companies in Ukraine. The company is the undisputed leader in production of yeast for the domestic market, while it exports about 40% of its products to 13 European countries. The company's main focus is on production of compressed and dry baking yeast, the development of new manufacturing processes for bakery and confectionery industry, and production of active feed yeast. The success of the Company has been confirmed by its significant share of Ukraine’s yeast market which is about 60%, as well as earning international quality certificates that includes ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP+, Kosher and Halal certificates. “Always a Step Ahead!” is the concept that underscores the openness to innovation and focus on innovative global product manufacturing that Enzym Company has adopted.

In a mere decade, Enzym Company has grown significantly from a small Eastern European yeast company to an internationally recognised player in the global yeast industry. The Company is constantly upgrading its manufacturing processes, optimising and introducing latest production technologies. In this regard, the company offers highest quality product in compliance with all global standards, while it ensures maximum ecological and environmental safety. Enzym Company's road to success has not been easy, but it considers crisis periods as a challenge and test of strength. It has successfully overcome difficult obstacles in course of conducting its business operations globally and imbibed lessons learnt, which has  ensured the company’s long term stability and reliability.

The long term goal of Enzym Company is to attain the status of an internationally recognised biotechnological company with focus on manufacturing natural products for the food industry and other allied industries. At this point, the company's efforts are geared towards expanding the export of its yeast products abroad and increasing production capacities in its local market.

The philosophy of the company is always to keep an eye on the pulse of time, and even to surpass it; create events that substantially change life.

In a bid to help preserve the environment, Enzym Company utilizes biogas derived from wastewater treatment which covers about 70% of its energy needs. It's in the plan of the company to completely jettison the use of natural gas in the near future. In order to attain this goal, Enzym Company plans to invest about €2 million in wastewater treatment plant systems.

As Enzym Company is not indifferent to the wellbeing of the environment and the development of the city of Lviv, it initiated several social and cultural programs. Hence the company is working to make Lviv a more comfortable and attractive city for residents and tourists. As a result of its efforts, Enzym Company has received the Lviv Socially Responsible Award in "Face of the City" contest.

the Grunda Brewery was launched on the site of the modern yeast factory.

1922

Lviv Shareholder Society of Brewers and Viennese Firm Mautner Markhof founded Joint-Stock Company Lysynychi Factory of Pressed Yeast and Alcohol S.A.

1930

the Factory produces 1/6 of the total demand for yeast in Poland.

1945

Lviv Yeast Factory specialising in the production of baker’s yeast founded.

1994

the Lviv Yeast Plant restructured as Enzym Closed Joint-Stock Company.

1996

the only dry yeast production facility in Ukraine established.

1997

comprehensive rehabilitation launched with the introduction of modern yeast production technologies, complete automation and computerization of the production process.

1998

launch of highly active Extra yeast.

2001

Khlibny Dim Baking Innovation Centre created.

2002

all products are manufactured under the registered trademark Lvivski Drizhdzhi (Lviv Yeast).

2003

exports to the Baltic countries and Russia;
production of Lvivski Drizhdzhi TM grows four times;
ISO 9001:2001 certification.

2004

• launch of improved yeast production - Effect+15%;

2005

exports to Moldova, Romania, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic;

• the Company ranks among top four in the animal feed market.

2007

ISO 22000 certification;
launch of VITAPAN TM additives;

2008

the Company ranks third in the pet food market, with a share of 16%.

2009

15 years of business success! Enzym Company is 15 years old!

2010

leader on the yeast market in former USSR territories;
the company holds a 20% share of the pet food market.

2011

the Company changes its type and name to Enzym Private Joint-Stock Company.
